Sizing, Application & Care
Your perfect fit—step by step. Start with clean measurements, choose your size, and follow each step in order for a comfortable fit and the best chance of reusing your nails.
Measure every natural nail.
Measure in millimeters across the widest part of each nail. Measure both hands—matching fingers are not always the same size.
A — Soft measuring tape
Place the tape across the widest part of the nail and follow the natural curve. Record the measurement in millimeters.
B — Paper or clear tape
Press a narrow strip across the widest part, mark both side edges, remove it, and measure between the marks with a ruler.
Choose your size.
Match your measurements to the chart. If one or more nails fall between sizes, choose the larger option.
| Size | Thumb | Index | Middle | Ring | Pinky |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | 15 mm | 11 mm | 12 mm | 11 mm | 8 mm |
| M | 16 mm | 12 mm | 13 mm | 12 mm | 9 mm |
| L | 17 mm | 13 mm | 14 mm | 13 mm | 10 mm |
Check the fit.
Lay out all ten press-ons and test each one without glue or tabs.
- Side to side — Cover the natural nail from sidewall to sidewall without touching the surrounding skin.
- Comfortable curve — The nail should sit comfortably without pinching or force. Flatter nail beds may need the next size up.
- File only if needed — If a nail is slightly wide, file the sidewalls in small, even strokes and check the fit often.
Prepare your natural nails.
Good preparation helps the adhesive make even contact with the nail.
- Wash and dry — Remove lotion, oil, and visible residue, then dry completely.
- Push back cuticles — Clear the nail plate so the press-on rests on the nail—not cuticle or skin.
- Shape if needed — File the natural nail edge so it sits neatly beneath the press-on.
- Lightly buff — Gently remove surface shine. Do not aggressively thin the natural nail.
- Use the alcohol wipe — Wipe each nail, allow it to air-dry, and avoid touching it afterward.
Choose one of three application methods.
Follow the directions included with each adhesive. Never apply adhesive to irritated, infected, or damaged nails.
Shorter wear — Adhesive tabs
- Choose a tab that fits without touching skin.
- Press it firmly onto the natural nail.
- Remove the backing, align the press-on, and press firmly.
Strong hold + easier removal — Hybrid method
- Apply the adhesive tab directly to the clean natural nail.
- Remove the backing and place a small amount of nail glue on top of the tab—not directly on the natural nail.
- Align the press-on and hold firmly for at least 10 seconds.
This combines the grip of a sticky tab with added glue strength while keeping most glue off the natural nail. Our recommended choice for customers who want a stronger hold with easier removal.
Longer wear — Nail glue
- Use a thin, controlled amount according to the glue directions.
- Align at the cuticle edge without touching skin.
- Lower the press-on and hold firmly for at least 10 seconds.
Remove gently—never pull.
Forced removal can damage both the press-on and your natural nail.
- Follow adhesive directions — Removal differs for tabs and glue, so begin with the instructions for the product used.
- Soak and loosen patiently — Warm soapy water and cuticle oil may help loosen many applications. Allow more time instead of using force.
- Lift only when released — Gently work around the edges with the wooden cuticle tool. Soak again if there is resistance.
- Avoid harsh removal — Do not pry, rip, or use acetone unless the nail and adhesive instructions allow it; acetone may damage reusable nails and decorations.
Clean, organize, and store.
Careful storage helps protect the shape, finish, and embellishments.
- Remove residue — Gently clear remaining adhesive using a method appropriate for the adhesive and nail material.
- Let nails dry — Make sure the press-ons are completely clean and dry before placing them in a case.
- Store by finger — Return each nail to its place so your complete set is ready for the next wear.
