Frequently Asked Questions
A confident first press starts here. Clear answers about sizing, wear, reuse, customization, shipping, and what makes each set special.
Why nail material matters.
The material affects how a press-on feels, flexes, holds its shape, supports detailed artwork, and responds to removal and reuse. It is one important part of quality—but thickness, construction, fit, nail preparation, adhesive choice, daily activity, and removal technique matter too.
Pretty Girls Plants & Glam sets are made from acrylic, ABS, or PMMA depending on the design. They are selected for a firmer, more substantial feel than the thin, highly flexible PVC commonly found in many mass-market sets.
PVC
| Quality | Often used for inexpensive, mass-market press-ons. Thin PVC nails may bend, crease, or lose their shape more easily. |
| Wear | Best suited to short-term or occasional wear. Flexing can loosen the adhesive bond. |
| Reusability | May be harder to reuse if the nail bends, weakens, or collects heavy glue buildup. |
| Best for | A budget-friendly, temporary style. |
ABS
| Quality | A common material for better-quality nail tips; holds its shape while offering some impact resistance. |
| Wear | Stable structure supports a secure fit and dependable wear when sized and applied correctly. |
| Reusability | Often reusable when removed gently, cleaned carefully, and stored safely. |
| Best for | Everyday wear with a strong, comfortable structure. |
PMMA
| Quality | A premium acrylic polymer valued for clarity, dimensional stability, and a polished surface. |
| Wear | Rigidity helps the nail keep its shape; correct sizing is especially important. |
| Reusability | Good reuse potential with careful application and removal. |
| Best for | A structured, polished look and detailed finishes. |
Acrylic
| Quality | A broad family of materials. A well-made acrylic nail can hold its shape and embellishments well. |
| Wear | Exact performance depends on the formula, thickness, construction, fit, and application. |
| Reusability | Often reusable when the design and structure remain intact and adhesive is removed gently. |
| Best for | Statement designs, structure, and a salon-like feel. |
A harder material is not automatically the best nail for every person. The best set combines quality material with the correct size, comfortable curvature, thoughtful construction, proper prep, and gentle removal. No material can guarantee an exact wear time or unlimited reuse.

02
How do I know which size to order?
Measure the widest part of each natural nail in millimeters and compare your measurements with our sizing guide. If you fall between sizes, choose the larger nail and gently file the sides for a custom fit.
-
03
How long do press-on nails last?
Wear time varies by adhesive, nail preparation, application, daily activity, and body chemistry. Adhesive tabs are ideal for shorter wear; nail glue is generally better for extended wear. No exact wear time can be guaranteed.
-
04
Can I reuse my nails?
Often, yes. Remove them gently, clean away remaining adhesive, and store the nails safely. Heavy glue buildup, forceful removal, or damage may reduce reusability.
-
05
Will press-ons damage my natural nails?
Press-ons can be a gentler alternative when applied and removed correctly. Never pull or force them off. Soak and loosen the adhesive patiently, following the removal directions for the adhesive you used.
-
06
Can I customize the size, shape, length, or design?
Some sets may be customizable depending on availability; most are sold as listed. Contact us before purchasing if you want to discuss a change. A request is not confirmed until we approve it.

07
What is the difference between mass-produced and boutique-curated press-on nails?
Mass-produced nails are typically formed, painted, decorated, and packaged in large quantities using standardized machinery. Pretty Girls Plants & Glam takes a boutique approach: designs are selected for their details, materials, structure, and style; sets are reviewed before packaging; and your order includes thoughtful presentation, application essentials, sizing education, and personal small-business support.
-
08
Why do some sets cost more?
Prices reflect design complexity and details such as crystals, pearls, charms, sculpted florals, specialty finishes, and premium packaging or prep items. More intricate sets require a higher price than simpler designs.
-
09
Why are these nails higher quality—and can reusable nails be a better value?
Many mass-market drugstore nails are made from thin, flexible PVC and are designed primarily for one-time wear. Depending on the design, our nails are made from acrylic, ABS, or PMMA for a firmer, more substantial structure. With correct sizing, careful application, gentle removal, cleaning, and safe storage, a reusable set can be worn again and offer better value over time. You are also purchasing a boutique design, application essentials, fit guidance, thoughtful presentation, and—when you choose a premium or luxury set—an upgraded care kit and protective storage case.

10
What if a nail is slightly too wide?
Use a fine nail file along the sidewalls in small, even strokes. Check the fit often so you do not remove too much material.
-
11
Do you offer a military or first-responder discount?
Yes. Eligible military members and first responders receive 10% off. Verification may be required at purchase.

12
Where do you ship?
Available destinations, rates, and estimated delivery information are shown through the checkout experience. Shipping estimates begin after order processing and are not delivery guarantees.
